Why St. Giles?

Sounds Catholic, doesn’t it? Well, it isn’t. We are proudly Protestant, and our name is a tribute to our Protestant and Reformed heritage. When the Reformation came to Scotland, it came largely through the preaching of John Knox. Due to its strategic location and importance, St. Giles Cathedral, in Edinburgh, was the epicenter of the Scottish Reformation. It functioned as a church, a school, a meeting place for Parliament, a prison, and the setting for several famous events, including the Jenny Geddes stool throw, and several infamous sermons that landed Knox in hot water with the authorities. God turned the nation of Scotland on its head with the gospel of free grace. Our prayer is that our students go into our community with that same gospel, and do likewise.

Come and see!
